Approved Clean Sport Stewards may conduct random clean sport testing at any time, from any pony/horse/donkey/mule that:
Drugs or Forbidden Substance means any substance capable of affecting the speed, stamina, courage or conduct of a horse/pony/donkey/mule by its action upon the central or peripheral nervous system or the cardio-vascual, respiratory, alimentary, digestive, muscoskeletal or urogential systems.
Any person who refuses to permit a sample or samples (of blood and/or urine) to be taken from any horse/pony/donkey/mule commits a breach of these rules.
2025-2026 Show Season Clean Sport Testing
24 January 2026: Thank you to those ‘Person’s Responsible’ for their support and understanding on their horse/pony being selected for Clean Sport Testing. To date all results have returned negative analytical reports.

As notified in September 2024, a Clean Sport Test undertaken in the 2023.2024 show season returned a Positive Analytical Report.
Person Responsible: Ms Anna Paratene; Pony: Phoenician Catwalk.
Penalties were imposed up to 31 July 2025, including a fine. The fine currently remains unpaid.
As a result, the Executive have reviewed the penalties and have imposed an additional twelve (12) month ban on Ms Paratene as a Person Responsible and the pony Phoenician Catwalk, from competing at RAS affiliated Shows/Events up until 31 July 2026.
2023.2024 Show Season
One Positive Analytical Report was received in the 2023.2024 show season. As per CS 5 – the Pony and Person Responsible have been stood down from showing/competing at RAS affiliated Shows/Events until 31 July 2025.
